Books:

Hooker Mentality covers what hookers’ experiences reveal about capitalism and gender and policing. It delves into the ways that selling sex can give us an insight into the systems which control everyone, exposing why so many sex workers become radically left-wing after we start selling sex. If you want to be an ally to sex workers, you need to understand our mentality.

Check out Working Guys: A Transmasculine Sex Worker Anthology, an anthology providing a snapshot of a broad range of transmasculine experiences selling sex and porn and other sexual services. It was fully funded on Kickstarter initially, and published on September 27th 2024! You can order it here.

The book contains essays and personal narratives from a total of 21 transmasculine sex workers and gives an overview of our working environment and culture.

Translations:

Contemporary Prostitution: Study of a Social Question by Leo Taxil, translated by Jack Parker. A book originally published in 1884 on the subject of prostitution in France throughout the 1800s. You can get a PDF copy here.

“La Prostitution Contemporaine” caused significant scandal for its condemnation of the morality police and its argumentation for the regulation of prostitution to be abolished. It details the lives of sex workers in France, and to a lesser extent elsewhere in Europe, and supplements these accounts with data from the police and doctors tasked with the inspection and treatment of sex workers. Most importantly, it contains letters from real sex workers!
