Once you’ve been selling sex for a while, you amass a lot of strange stories. Depending on how precarious of a situation you’re in, they might skew towards weird and horrifying or weird and funny. When people find out I sell sex, they sometimes ask me what my worst experience doing it has been. Sometimes even clients ask this! What I find very interesting is that when I’m in groups of other sex workers, who all understand the dangers we face and can picture all too well what my worst experiences have been like, they tend to want to share our weird or funny stories rather than our trauma. I’ll share some of my own weird stories and the comments I’ve gotten.
A lot of these were pulled from diaries I kept when I was seeing high volumes of clients, where I’d write down funny or ridiculous things they said. I’m not sure I’d remember most of them otherwise!
